Importance

There have always been days when i feel that i'm less important and can be easily ignored.

Today's one of those days.

Three

Three down, two more to go.

Not really sure what i wrote for sociology.
Hopefully i managed to bullshit my way thru.

The busstop was filled with people when i was trying to get home.
made a decision to walk out of NUS towards a busstop with a direct bus to my place,
it only took me 15 mins, bus ride took me 50 mins.
in the end i think i reached home earlier then if i had waited at the busstop in NUS,

So glad i made the decision to walk.
Gave me time to think as well.

E-mail

Just received an email from a lecturer.

guess he's trying way too hard to be funny. hate him.

Anyway, two down, three to go.
Today's paper was manageable as well.
well, considerably manageable considering I didn't bother to study at all for this module.

Interesting event of the day:
Went to clementi for lunch after my paper. Saw something that made me realize a few things today,
I realized that:

1. Some girls can really eat a lot. Two mos burger burgers? And asking to share a third burger? From a girl? who has a good figure? damn, life is unfair. I grow fat if I so much as look at a burger.

2. Miss Singapore is from my faculty and my year. And I had totally no idea. And I saw her while I was having lunch, seems she just had the same paper as me? I didn't even know it was her, until someone told me. She looks okay in real person I guess, too leggy though, but that might be due to the fact that she was wearing those really short shorts. And I realized she knew my classmate.

3. I should not talk about others behind their back. We were discussing Miss Singapore, when she showed up at the coffee shop we were in.

4. Good-looking people are rarely brainy, heard her CAP average was 2++. That probably affected her taste is man as well, since I heard her boyfriend isn't that good looking.

5. My friend is totally shameless. Referring to realization 4. I made a hypothesis that good looking people usually end up with the not so good looking people to maintain a certain balance in nature. Hearing this he said:
"sigh, no wonder all my ex are so pretty." followed with:
"no wonder all of them couldn't last."

6. I'm either ugly or unusual, With reference to hypothesis mentioned in realization 5. I'm guessing unusual. Since I can't possibly be ugly.

English

Master!
You are a MASTER of the English language!

While your English is not exactly perfect,
you are still more grammatically correct than
just about every American. Still, there is
always room for improvement...

How grammatically sound are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

As a friend would say, "its English"
wonder how he would fare for this quiz.

The beginning of the end

Day 1:
one down, four more to go.

Remarks:
Today's paper was surprisingly manageable. kewl.

Obeservations:
On the bus home, my first thought upon boarding the bus was:
"damn, but everyone on the bus looks like a zombie"
Guess they just came from a brain draining (washing?) paper?
heh heh.

Think i'll go for a jog in the evening. need to exercise.

Charity

read an Interesting article in the online edition of the straits time today. it was about the whole hoo haa raised over the NKF's huge reserves.
The article was about Mr Willie Cheng who disclosed the difference in the amount of funds raised for two charitable organisation who had the same aims, namely the NKF and KDF, both are involved in the funding of kidney dialysis.

BUT, the thing that caught my eye was not the contents of the article ( although it was interesting ) what was truly interesting was this. at the end of the article, the list of ways to make a donation to the ongoing NKF fund raising effort was appended. Free publicity?

It made me think that perhaps this whole "revelation" of the NKF's reserves was not such a bad thing after all? i mean, they got the free publicity ( the money saved will now go towards bolstering their reserves ), true it might have started out negatively, "i'm not gonna donate to NKF anymore" being the response of part of the public. but i guess everthing is still going to turn out alright, since everyone is now trying to make things right again. even the guy who started the whole fracas in the first place.

oh well, all the best to NKF's latest fund-raising event.

hopefully i'll managed to scrape my way through yet another examination.

On the bright side, this is the last weekend that i'll have to touch my books for the next three months.
i'm looking forward to the vacations. just another week, and i'm done with it. :)

Passion

Just watched the Passion of Christ, the show with a whole lot of publicity ( both negative and positive ). It was thought provoking to say the least. At the basic level, it is a very vivid portrayal of the suffering that Jesus went through, (too vivid if you ask me, at certain points, i just couldn't bear to watch.) at another level, it shows me the true nature of humans, that humans will demonize things / people that they do not agree with / understand or are just plain different, for is that not what is happening to islam presently? mention islam, and there will be people who will immediately conjure up images of terrorists? Even though not every one is like this, the overwhelming majority are. its just that they have learn how to say the things that people expect them to say, and not say what they truly believe.

Another thought that was provoked by scenes from the movie was from the scenes where Jesus was punished (?) and tortured by his captors. The acting of the gaolers convinced me of one thing. Everyone has a function to fulfill in society, even those sadistic people who enjoy inflicting pain on others. They are the people who fulfill the role of the dealers of physical punishment, they are those who will still be able to live with themselves after beating a man to near death. i know i won't be able to do it and still sleep at night, even when i know that the man was guilty.

Another thing that caught my attention was this, Jesus said that to love your friends is easy, but to love your enemies is what is truly worthy. ( note: i am paraphrasing because i can't remember the exact words) and i realise that it is true, to love friends is easy, too easy in fact, it is only when you are able to love someone whom has done you wrong, who bears you ill will, that you are truly amazing. If everyone strives to achieves this simple concept, i'm sure there will be less strife in the whole world.

Even though i am not a Christian, i do admire the teachings of the Christian Faith. And i also admire the teachings of other religions such as islam and Buddhism as well. for essentially, these religions are just trying to better the world through their teachings. i believe in their aims but not in the way they try to achieve their aims. For humans have this tendencies to manipulate things to their own ends. which is one very disappointing aspect of humanity.

Escape

"i can do this"
one hour since commencement of the study plan.

"wtf is he trying to say"
second hour of sociology readings.

"I want to escape."
thought in my mind during the third hour of studying.

".............FOOD............"
only thought in my mind for the rest of the day.
