There are so many people who are better at presenting their case than me. This is an article about evolution versus Intelligent Design.
Why am I so hung up about this? Because America is planning to teach Creationism together with Natural Selection, and to ask the kids to make their own conclusion. This is worrying as the whole "include creationism as curriculum" is driven by a religious group, and America is supposed to be a secular society.

Yes, u seem a little hung up over this. Anyway there are many types of secularism. I think your definition of secularism is a strict seperation between religion and state. That means that religious bodies should not interfere in the affairs of the state, and the like. It doesnt mean that no mention of religion should be allowed. That stance is taken by the communists. And perhaps it is an implicit move by the church to implement this, but then again, America is so multi-cultural that they would not define it only by way of Christianity. Even the American constitution makes reference to 'God' which mean Allah for the Muslim Americans. But America is also the land of democracy and free choice, and giving students both sides of the story and letting them make up their own mind is in my view better than cramming only the theory of evolution down their throats under the label of science, which has been what was done for a long time.
Well if they do make reference to only the Christian version of God then I wont agree with that as well. I am all for religious pluralism, dont get me wrong.
And arent u supposed to be studying? %pokes
What about people who do not believe in a God or Gods?
To me, secularism doesn't mean no religion, it means that religion should have no part in politics.
AS for cramming theory of evolution down students throats.
Proponents of Creationism haven't given much evidences to support their case.
I feel that teaching Creationism together with Evolution is the same as teaching geocentric theory next to heliocentric theory and asking the kids to make up their minds.
I think that's not a fair analogy, because we have proven the case between geocentric theory and heliocentric theory beyond all doubt, but there doesn't yet exist such concrete proof for Intelligent Design. And I think intelligent design and creationism are different terms and bear different connotations, and personally, I don't rule out the possibility of evolution being part of intelligent design. Just like in neural networks and self-learning (computer) systems - they evolve over time, but someone created them for evolution...
