Song of the Moment:
At Last by Ella Fitzgerald.
==========================
At last
my love has come along
my lonely days are over
and life is like a song
At last
the skies above are blue
my heart was wrapped up in clover
the night I looked at you
I found a dream
that I could speak to
a dream that I can call my own
I found a thrill to press my cheek to
a thrill that I have never known well
You smile
you smile
oh and then the spell was cast
and here we are in heaven
for you are mine at last
==========================
I'm feeling kinda happy today. So it's going to be a happy post, no complains no gripes. it will just ooze concentrated happiness and love and all that crap. Hell, who am i trying to kid? No matter how happy i am, i'll still have stuff to gripe about.
Gripe One: i can't stand couples behaving all lovey dovey in front of me, not even when they are my close friends. Damnit, do they have to rub my predicament in my face by flauting that they have one another? I met up with a friend and his significant other for lunch at Sakae Sushi. He has just started NS, so he's now in BMT, and suffering from the eternal cough that all recruits have. And the two of them started to "argue" because my friend ordered a pepsi. Long story short, significant other objected, restricted, but in the end still relented. So my friend got to drink his pepsi in the end. They just have to do that in front of me, just as i'm feeling lonely. Damn, they may both be my friends, but i do not appreciate having such things going on right in front of me.
Glad One: went to seiyu, saw a billabong singlet, my friend went to try it on first, ( alright, so i was not the one who saw it, buti look better in it.) then he thought it doesn't look nice. so i decided to try it on, and i liked it, so i bought it. Happilly purchased it.
Gripe Two: In the evening i met up with my friends from Secondary school days for dinner. Was still feeling quite full from lunch, but i felt bad if i went there and just watched them eat, so i ordered Niang Dou Fu. And for the three bucks that i paid, i got a ridiculously small quantity of Niang dou Fu. Not that i was hungry, but i still feel like i've been cheated. I hate food courts.
Glad Two: After dinner, we went to shop around a little, even though i didn't managed to get anything, i managed to try out a few fragrances in Metro. i just went around the display area and tried out most of the available samples there and i managed to gather quite a collection of the paper u use to test the fragrances on(i have no idea what they are called). The funniest thing is that i decided to stick with what i'm using currently, but it was nice to go test and see whether there's anything nice.
Intermission
Interesting Conversation 1:
Gage: this smells alright.
YJ: (after taking a sniff) it smells like a Cab.
At this point i just laughed out loud, think the sales people there thought i was crazy.
interesting Conversation 2:
After trying out a certain brand (can't remember the brand name)
Gage: what brand is this?
ME: i dunno. why?
Gage: Remember the brand so that we won't buy anything from that brand.
And i agree.
Gripe Three: I have friends who will not believe me when i say that i am not interested. Sigh, my army mate, who is now my course mate and a friend from school seem to think that i'm interested in this girl from my class. i am withholding all names to protect the innocent ( namely, me. ). I think that the girl is pretty, and i like her character too, but i just cannot envision myself with her. Simply because i'm in love with another person. Again i'm withholding names to protect the innocent. ( namely the person i love, ) for i have friends who will try all means to find out who the person is, but i'm saying here that i will only tell when i feel that the time is right.
Glad Three: Chomp chomp is opened for business once more, it's now much better ventilated. But the important thing is that i now have a place for great food near my house.
Gripe Four: But there are a lot of flying insects there. One even flew into our plate of hokkien mee. damnit, thankfully we were finishing and there was only a few mouthful left.
Glad Four: It's finally labor day.
